To get the full reward of tahajjud, one should go to sleep and then wake up some time later. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would sometimes break his sleep numerous times throughout the night, and certainly this is more difficult on the nafs, and therefore more rewarding. However, the time for tahajjud does begin after the Isha prayer, and for that person who cannot wake up, that is really the only option for them.

It is wajib to recite the takbir once, but it would permissible/preferred to recite it three times (although one should not consider it necessary, nor sunnah, to do so). Imam Haskafi, the great Hanafi jurist, in his Durr al-Mukhtar, mentions that it is good (hasan) to recite it more than once.

With regard to reciting after the Eid prayer, it is not wajib, but mustahabb, but again, the same ruling would apply in so far as reciting more than once (i.e. it would be good). Hope that helps.

salaam ale kum

Reciting the Takbir at-Tashriq beginning from Fajr on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, continuing through Asr on the 13th.

I have a question, how many times we can recite Tkabir at Tashreeq during 9th Dhul Hijja from Fajr prayer to 13th Dhul Hijja . most of us recites this three times after any Farz Prayers, jummah, and Eid ul Adha is it correct? but one guy said. we cannot three times. we have to recite recite only one time. after Farz prayer, Jummah, and after Eid ul adha prayer, and he said the workd Takbir is singular. please reply to me about my above question in detail, if we recite Tkabir three times is it wrong?
